General Operative (Casual)

Competitve rates of pay (4 hour minimum call out)

EastPort UK Cargo Handling Ltd, a division of Great Yarmouth Port Company Ltd, are seeking to recruit for Casual General Operatives.

You will be responsible for a range of activities associated with general maintenance/labouring duties in and around the port sites including the handling and transportation of freight and goods.  Work will be offered on an as and when required basis ranging between 4 hours and 48 hours per week but this is not guaranteed. 

Minimum requirements are: 

• Full UK Driving Licence or equivalent licence;
• Counter Balance Forklift Truck Licence/Certificate;
• An ability to manually lift up to 25 kgs.

Whilst not essential, the following criteria would be advantageous: 

• Valid slinger/banksman certificate;
• Previous experience/qualification of heavy plant driving duties, including but not limited to loading shovel and LGV Class 1 driving;
• Clerical duties, including but not limited to, tallying and weighbridge operations.

Own transport and ability to respond to call outs is essential.
