MARINE - SECURITY

The Port Company is responsible for ensuring compliance of the whole port with the requirements of the International Ship and Port Security (ISPS) Code. This role includes the Port Facility Security Officer for berths owned and operated by the Company. There is also an overall role to ensure that other port facilities within the Port meet with the Code requirements.

The ISPS Code requires the Port Company to

  • Develop a Port Facility Security Plan
  • Liaise with other Port users and regulators and establish a Port Security Committee.
  • Advise other Port users on the best practices to comply with the Code.

Under the Code, each Port Facility must exercise their Plan on a regular basis and the Port Company plays a leading role in arranging and co-ordinating security exercises in order to practice various security scenarios.
