FACILITIES – CONTAINER TERMINAL

A new container terminal headed by two new ZPMC Post Panamax Gantry Cranes and supported by a range of on-the-ground container handling equipment.

Quay length and water depth will accommodate mid and short sea routes encapsulating:

South America
Eastern Mediterranean/North Africa
South Africa
Europe
Caribbean
Scandinavia
East Coast USA

The terminal offers major freight connections and is positioned on one of the strategic Trans-European Network routes, offering the shortest possible sea route to the Netherlands and Belgium.

First phase operation will provide:

The new container terminal at EastPort UK is operated by PSA International in a joint venture with International Port Holdings (owners of GYPC who trade as EastPort UK).

PSA International is one of the leading global port groups. With its flagship operations in PSA Singapore Terminals and PSA HNN, PSA participates in 28 port projects in 16 countries across Asia, Europe and the Americas, with a global capacity of 111 million TEUs over 66 km of quay length.

International Port Holdings was formed by Alistair Baillie (previously Chief Operating Officer of P&O’s international port division) and Eliza O’Toole (whose city legal career was major infrastructure, strategic project and regeneration focused). IPH’s strategy is to purchase and invest in port operating assets on a global basis with strong growth prospects, and in some cases, potential for development.
